THE CLEAR ANSWER

What does a comprehensive eye exam check?

A comprehensive eye exam checks how well you see and looks at the health of your eyes. At Eye Center of Ephraim, your visit brings together your symptoms, medical history and examination findings to guide prescriptions, treatment or follow-up care.

Care beyond a prescription

A new pair of glasses may be part of your visit, but clear eyesight alone does not tell the whole story. An eye health evaluation can identify concerns that have not yet caused noticeable symptoms.

Tell us about changes in reading, driving, screen use or schoolwork. Your family history, medications and health conditions also help shape the examination.

An exam built around your needs

Your doctor selects the tests that fit your age, symptoms and eye health. The examination may include:

  • Distance and near-vision testing.
  • Measurements for your glasses prescription.
  • Eye movement and coordination checks.
  • Evaluation of the front and inside of your eyes.

Plan for your appointment

Bring your current glasses or contact lenses and a medication list. If your eyes are dilated, temporary blur and light sensitivity can affect driving. Bring sunglasses and arrange a ride home.
